Sheri Ann Richerson from ExperimentalHomesteader.com is joined by Jeffrey Rhoades to talk about the Aurosports Soil Moisture Meter Muddler 4 in 1 she received for review. I love this 4 in 1 plant meter - and here is why. First of all instead of carrying multiple meters with me to measure pH, moisture, light and soil temperature, I can carry just one. Second the digital readout is large enough to easily read and it gives me that readout quickly. I can switch between C or F for the temperature which is also nice since I read a lot of European Gardening Magazines. The probe is long enough to be useful for pots or in ground usage. It comes with a 9 volt battery so you can use it as soon as it arrives. I love the large size of the head and the way it is angled. It makes for easy carrying and easy reading. As a garden author, blogger and all-out plant geek I know that making sure my plants have exactly what they need when it comes to the proper soil pH, proper soil temperature, the right amount of light and moisture is essential. All of these factors play a role in how well my plants grow and bloom. Healthy plants are also more pest resistant and the best way to make sure they are healthy is to make sure they are growing under optimal conditions. The Aurosports meter can help you with that.
I also like that when I do have to leave and let someone else water my plants they can check the soil moisture before they just water. Improper watering can lead to plant death. With this meter even someone who knows nothing about plants can easily figure out if they need to water or not. This would be a fantastic gift idea for the gardener in your life!
